Neely
Neely grew up in North Carolina and attended college at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. She began her career in the animal industry working at a doggy daycare for a year, before moving on to work at the Charleston Animal Society. She later became a certified dog trainer through Animal Behaviour College (ABCDT), and trained dogs for three years, before becoming a groomer and working at Michael's Barkery.
But education and work experience weren't the only reasons attracting Neely to the animal industry. Neely first learned she loved working with animals as a young girl, when she would pet-sit for her friends and family. When her aunt had rescued a red retreiver, Neely's goal was to soothe his anxiety and nervousness and ease him out of the closet, eventually coaxing him outside to play. This was when Neely realized that she truly had a knack for working with animals, and soothing a nervous disposition, so she decided to utilize this gift in making a positive difference in animals' lives.
Her favorite part of the grooming process is experiencing the satisfaction and transformation of the before and after stages. Neely's favorite dogs to work with are the timid and nervous dogs, as she finds some of her strengths as a groomer is in helping these pups feel better, more comfortable and more at peace. It brings Neely great happiness to style these dogs in a way that really brings out their true personality, and she absolutely loves bringing joy to customers when they see how great their pup looks after their appointment.
Neely is a proud owner of two rescues, a four-year-old Siberian Husky named Arya, and a year-and-half-old Tuxedo Cat named Steve. In her personal time, Neely enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, working out at the gym, being outside and soaking up the sunshine, listening to music and going to concerts.
